Revenue from overnight stays in the Burgas region amounted to 87.5 million euros in June 2026, representing a 9.2% increase compared to the same month last year. The data was reported by the Territorial Statistical Bureau – Southeast. The revenue growth was distributed between Bulgarian citizens, who showed a 13.6% increase, and foreigners, who saw a growth of 8.0%.
In June, 723 accommodation establishments with at least 10 beds were operational in the region, including hotels, motels, mountain huts, and campsites. They had a total of 52.4 thousand rooms and 127.8 thousand beds available. Compared to June 2025, the total number of operating establishments fell by 3.1%, while the number of available beds decreased by 1.0%.
Statistics show that the total number of people who stayed overnight reached 346.3 thousand, which is a 6.6% decline on an annual basis. There were 111.0 thousand Bulgarian citizens with an average stay of 3.5 nights, while foreign citizens numbered 235.3 thousand with an average of 5.5 nights. Of the foreigners, 81.1% chose high-end 4 and 5-star establishments.
In 4 and 5-star accommodations, 80.6% of all overnight stays by foreigners and 53.9% of those by Bulgarians were realized. In three-star hotels, 13.7% of the overnight stays by foreigners and 16.0% by Bulgarians were recorded, while in other establishments with 1 and 2 stars, the figures were 5.7% and 30.1%, respectively. The total bed occupancy for the region was 43.7%, marking a decrease of 3.8 percentage points compared to the previous year. The highest occupancy was registered in 4 and 5-star complexes at 54.5%, while for three-star hotels it was 30.4%, and for the lowest categories, it was 24.9%.
