In its effort to modernize communication with its citizens and numerous guests, the Municipality of Nessebar has introduced a new initiative aimed at providing fast and effective access to key information. According to an official press release from the municipality, the project involves the installation of a network of digital information screens in strategic locations characterized by high tourist traffic.

This innovative information system represents a significant leap in the technological development of the urban environment. The installed devices are designed for continuous operation – 24 hours a day, seven days a week – and feature an extended service life. They serve as multimedia platforms capable of integrating various content formats, including dynamic video materials, visually impactful images, sound files, and current data such as time, date, and temperature.

Content of the Screens

The content broadcast on the screens is carefully selected to meet the needs of both local residents and foreign visitors. It includes:

The initiative is part of a broader municipal strategy aimed at supporting the local economy and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Nessebar. Through the use of video and film materials, the screens will showcase the history, architecture, and cultural events that make the city a world-renowned tourist destination. Additionally, they will serve to promote current municipal activities, ensuring transparency and a direct link between the administration and the public.

Location of the Installed Screens

To date, six screens have already been installed – five of them are located at the Tourist Information Center in the picturesque Old Town, and one is mounted in front of the post office building in New Nessebar. The municipality announced that plans to expand the network are underway, with the installation of additional devices expected in front of the Municipal Building and in the modern "Artium Center" complex.

In the long term, this project is just the first step in Nessebar's ambitious vision to become a "Smart City". The municipality has already implemented other similar initiatives, such as the placement of benches with built-in mobile phone charging stations located in key areas throughout the city. These steps underscore the local administration's commitment to applying modern technologies to improve the quality of life and the tourist experience in one of the oldest and most beautiful destinations on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast.
