Artists propose a new look for Burgas for Eurovision 2027
Poet Nedyalko Yordanov and composer Stefan Diomov have sent an open letter to Mayor Dimitar Nikolov with a vision for preparing Burgas to host the Eurovision Song Contest.
"Burgas is Burgas. Irreplaceable and beloved!", the two artists emphasize in their address.
The three specific proposals include:
- Moving a parking entrance: Reorganization near the "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" school to reveal the facade of the iconic building.
- Atanas Sirekov Square: Improving the site of the old fence and turning it into a public viewing area with a large screen, similar to the practice in Vienna.
- Green zone at "The Hole": Temporary transformation of the site at Troykata Square into a park with alleys and a fountain until a long-term architectural solution is found.
The initiative comes against the backdrop of a working meeting between Mayor Dimitar Nikolov and Deputy Prime Minister Ivo Hristov, where state investments for the large-scale event were discussed. A budget of 20 million euros has already been allocated for preparations by the end of the year.
