The impact of artificial intelligence on the labor market
At a trilateral meeting of the Economic and Social Council (ESC) of Bulgaria with their counterparts from Spain and Portugal, the Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Natalia Efremova, highlighted the critical topic of artificial intelligence (AI).
"There is one topic that seems very important to me – the impact of artificial intelligence on the labor market and young people," stated Minister Efremova.
The forum in the parliament building brought together a wide range of stakeholders, including:
- Representatives of the legislative and executive authorities;
- The European Commission in Bulgaria;
- Employers' organizations and trade unions;
- The academic community and the civil sector.
The main discussions focused on the challenges facing the labor market, economic growth, and competitiveness. According to Efremova, dialogue between institutions is key, because "if a government does not take into account what the social partners have to tell it, there is no way for its policies to be successful."
