The MPs' summer vacation: When do they go on break?

The National Assembly has officially determined the period of its summer vacation. The MPs voted for their break to begin on August 5 and continue through August 23 inclusive.

The decision was adopted with a significant majority in the plenary hall, with a substantial portion of the members of parliament supporting the schedule.

Details about the vote

An interesting fact is that this year the summer vacation has been shortened. According to the current Rules of Organization and Procedure of the National Assembly, by law, it should cover the entire month of August (from August 1 to August 31). With this current decision, however, the MPs are returning to work earlier than scheduled.

The proposal was submitted by the "Progressive Bulgaria" parliamentary group.
