Recognition of Professionalism in the Bulgarian Army
Caretaker Minister of Defence Atanas Zapryanov and Chief of Defence Admiral Emil Eftimov presented awards to military personnel and civilian employees of the Ministry of Defence and the Bulgarian Army. The ceremony was held on the occasion of May 6 – the Day of Bravery and the Day of the Bulgarian Army.
"Our task is to notice those service members who put maximum effort into their capabilities in order to maintain readiness in the formations," stated Minister Zapryanov.
He emphasized that in the current climate of global conflicts, peace is achieved through strength, and strength depends on motivated and well-prepared people in the army.
Challenges Facing the Modern Army
Admiral Emil Eftimov noted that the Bulgarian Army celebrates its holiday under conditions of increased vigilance and strengthened combat duty. According to him, efforts are focused on balancing the maintenance of existing equipment with modernization processes.

On the occasion of the holiday, the National Museum of Military History (NMMH) celebrates its 110th anniversary with the exhibition "Created in War, Preserved with Art." On May 6, the museum will have free admission for visitors from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
