The government is investing nearly 52 million euros in the security of Bulgaria
The Council of Ministers has officially approved funding totaling 51,825,809 euros for activities of the Ministry of the Interior in 2026. The decision aims to optimize the work of the services and improve the quality of administrative services for citizens.
Main funding priorities:
- Centralized system for personalization of identity documents: 47,445,474 euros have been allocated for the implementation of a new model that will improve security and efficiency in the issuance of Bulgarian identity documents.
- Road Safety Fund: 4,380,335 euros have been approved, aimed at preventing accidents and improving road control.
"Investments in digitalization and safety are of key importance for the modernization of the state administration," the government press office emphasized.
Along with the financial decisions, the cabinet also adopted an update to the National Road Safety Strategy (2021–2030), aiming to reduce road traffic trauma in the country.
