Since September 7th to date, 49,291 road traffic offenders have been detected, with a tendency for their number to decrease, announced Bozidar Chakurov from the National Toll Management.
The record holder for speeding was detected in the Ravadinovo – Tsalapitsa area at 248 km/h.
65 sections for measuring average speed have been certified, and their number is expected to reach 100 by the end of 2026.
The adaptation of the information systems between API and the Ministry of Interior has been completed. Since November 26th, the collection of data on administrative violations related to average speed, as well as the delivery of penalty notices, has begun.
Since September 7th, an improvement in drivers' behavior has been observed, and the effect is expected to increase with the delivery of fines.
During the last week, an action was carried out to control trucks and buses, during which 10,000 vehicles were checked and about 2,000 violations were found, including drivers under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
