The State Agency for Child Protection (SACP) is organizing a National campaign against the use of vapes, nitrous oxide, and 'designer drugs' in nearly 40 schools. The aim was to inform students about the harms of these substances. Specialists talked about cases of children who reached hospital treatment and were at risk of life.
Children learned about the possible negative effects: aggression, paranoia, seizures, loss of consciousness, triggering of mental illnesses, and severe consequences for health. The danger of using substances purchased from the internet was emphasized. Students asked questions about addiction, treatment, connection with chronic diseases, and the dangers of smokeless cigarettes.
Dr. Teodora Ivanova emphasized the importance of prevention and noted great interest in the campaign. The campaign received support from athletes. Informational videos and flyers are available. The campaign will continue in 2026.
