One of Bulgaria's leading summer resorts is joining a national initiative aimed at raising awareness about HIV/AIDS prevention. The Municipality of Nesebar has become part of the fourth, summer stage of the National AIDS Campaign, which is being held under the motto "Pass it on: a summer without risk". The campaign is aimed at raising awareness among young people and other at-risk groups about the ways of contracting and preventing HIV/AIDS, as well as other sexually transmitted infections.
As part of the action, a mobile medical office will operate on the territory of the municipality, serviced by a specialized team from the Regional Health Inspectorate (RHI) - Burgas. The office will offer free and anonymous consultations and tests for HIV status to anyone interested.
Schedule of the mobile office:
Nesebar: August 21, Thursday, in front of and inside the Artium Center, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Sunny Beach: August 26, Tuesday, also from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
This initiative provides easy access to specialized medical services in the heart of the city, which facilitates the participation of local residents and tourists.
The second part of the initiative will take place in one of the largest seaside complexes in Bulgaria. On August 26, Tuesday, the RHI-Burgas team will move its mobile unit to the 'Sunny Beach' resort complex. There, the office will also work from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, aiming to reach a wider range of people, including the resort's numerous foreign guests.
In addition to the medical services provided, all visitors to the mobile office will be given health education materials, as well as condoms. These measures are a key element of the campaign's strategy, as they aim not only to inform but also to provide concrete means of prevention, encouraging responsible behavior and reducing the risk of spreading infections. The participation of the Municipality of Nesebar in this national campaign underscores the commitment of the local authorities to the health and well-being of its citizens and guests.
