The Minister of Interior Daniel Mitov awarded Inspector Kaloyan Peychev from the 'Security Police' sector at the First Police Station - Burgas with a letter of appreciation and a monetary reward.
The incident occurred on 23.11. this year, when Inspector Peychev was traveling with his family. On the road between Kotel and Burgas, there was a head-on collision between a car and a truck. Peychev, who was traveling behind them, immediately stopped and rushed to help.
He went to the driver of the car - a woman who was trapped by the engine, but unfortunately died. Then he noticed a child in the back of the crushed car with a head injury, near a gas installation. Peychev carefully pulled out the child, provided first aid and signaled to tel. 112.
Police, firefighters and paramedics arrived at the scene. The boy was taken to the hospital in Sliven. It became clear that the child had undergone a life-saving operation due to a torn lung, a wrist fracture, a head wound and a removed gallbladder. He is currently recovering.
