During the past day, a total of 13 drivers were found behind the wheel after consuming alcohol, the Ministry of Interior announced on its website. Of these, 11 drove after consuming alcohol between 0.5 and 1.2 per mille, and two drove with over 1.2 per mille; four refused testing. Under the influence of narcotic substances or their analogues, 12 drivers were caught driving, and three refused to be tested.
As part of the specialized police operation ordered to enforce the Road Traffic Act, 12,380 motor vehicles were checked. Control was carried out on 14,267 drivers and passengers. 3054 penalty tickets and 384 administrative offense reports were issued. The focus of the operation is to prevent driving by drivers who have consumed alcohol, narcotic substances and/or their analogues, as well as the driving of motor vehicles by unqualified drivers, the Ministry of Interior adds.
