Ministry of Foreign Affairs Monitors Escalation Between Israel and Iran: Crisis Unit and Advice to Bulgarian Citizens

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) is monitoring the situation around the clock in connection with the escalation between Israel and Iran. A Crisis Unit has been formed, and contact is maintained with diplomatic missions and partners. Bulgarian citizens in the region are urged to be vigilant and follow the instructions of local authorities.

Regarding the ongoing military escalation between Israel and Iran, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) is monitoring the situation around the clock, the department announced.

A Crisis Staff has been formed at the instruction of Minister V. Neynski. The Ministry maintains constant contact with all Bulgarian diplomatic missions in the region, as well as with its partners and allies, the statement says.

We urge Bulgarian citizens in the region to remain calm and vigilant, to stay at home and strictly adhere to the instructions of the local authorities, as well as to follow the announcements on the websites of the Bulgarian embassies and the MFA, the department adds.

The MFA calls on Bulgarian citizens in Israel to strictly follow the instructions of the local authorities during alarms and calls for the use of shelters in the event of retaliatory strikes against the country.

In accordance with the instructions of the MFA, the employees of the Bulgarian diplomatic missions in the region and their families are observing all necessary safety measures.

The caretaker Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov is convening a Security Council today at 13:00, the government press service announced.
