Solemn concert for May 24th in Burgas
State Opera – Burgas is preparing for a special solemn concert on the occasion of May 24th, which will take place on May 22nd. The spotlight will be on young violinist Vladimir Meranliev – a student of the NUMSI "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov".
"Vladimir Meranliev is a testament to the immense talent of the young generation of Bulgarian musicians," the cultural institution notes.
The concert will be held under the baton of maestro Yordan Dafov. Soprano Maria Tsvetkova-Madzharova will join the young violinist as a soloist, and Vanya Zlateva and Hristo Belchev will be the concertmasters.
A rich program of classical masterpieces
The program includes some of the most iconic works by Bulgarian and world composers:
- Pancho Vladigerov – Rhapsody "Vardar"
- Dimitar Nenov – "Songs for high voice"
- Lyubomir Pipkov – "Introduction and Dances" from the opera "Momchil"
- Bedřich Smetana – "Overture" and "Dances" from "The Bartered Bride"
- Alexander Raichev – Symphony No. 2 "Prometheus"
- Antonín Dvořák – "Slavonic Dances" No. 1 and No. 2
Who is Vladimir Meranliev?
Vladimir Meranliev was born in 2010 in London and began his musical journey at the age of just 5. His talent quickly led him to the NUMSI "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov" in Burgas, where he studies in the class of Lyudmila Ivanova. With over 20 national and international awards, he is already an established name who collaborates with proven Bulgarian musicians on prestigious stages such as "Bulgaria" Hall.
