Medical specialists in Bulgaria have once again launched a wave of protests, demonstrating the systemic challenges facing the healthcare sector. The Bulgarian Association of Assistant Pharmacists (BAAP) firmly stood behind the young doctors, emphasizing the critical state of the professional environment.
Another civic protest in Sofia raised sharp questions about the conditions and pay of medical workers. The participants clearly communicated their determination to continue their fight until their voices are heard by the responsible institutions.
According to experts from BAAP, the problems in healthcare are visible and deeply rooted. The lack of political will and strategic vision leads to a gradual deepening of the crisis, which threatens the entire sector with professional collapse.
The organization points out the vicious model of reactive management, where institutions act only after a problem escalates. This approach is expressed in a series of formal meetings, conversations, and declarations that rarely lead to real structural changes.
Assistant pharmacists recall that a year ago they had already signaled the need for reforms. Recurring attacks on their professional contribution further worsen the situation in the healthcare system.
The association insists on a comprehensive and fair approach that guarantees decent conditions for all medical specialists. They appeal to legislators to show responsibility and impartiality in addressing sector challenges.
The protests of young medics are becoming a symptom of a larger problem – the need for urgent and deep transformation of Bulgarian healthcare.
