Dramatic events shook the beach strip of Skorpilovtsi after two consecutive signals were received about found dead marine mammals. A journalistic team from the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency documented the presence of three dolphin bodies along the coastline.

Official sources from the Regional Inspection of Environment and Water (RIOSV) - Varna confirmed receiving the initial signals on August 14 and 15. The institution immediately took administrative actions, sending an official letter to Dolni Chiflik Municipality with an order to check and remove the dead animals.

Permit #812 from 19.11.2019 by the Ministry of Environment and Water regulated the exact procedure for handling protected species in such incidents. Paradoxically, municipal officials subsequently reported that during field investigations they did not find any dolphin remains.

Experts from the Ministry of Environment and Water suggested that rough sea waves were a possible reason for the disappearance of the bodies, which were likely carried back into the water mass. This incident resembles another similar case from early August when a dead Mutcur dolphin was found and removed from a beach in the Golden Sands resort complex.

The case continues to raise questions among the local community and environmental organizations regarding the causes of these marine mammals' deaths.
