A new beginning for Bulgarian institutions
The elected cabinet combines professionalism and extensive administrative experience. The President of the National Assembly, Mihaela Dotsova, stated that she expects bold but reasonable decisions from Rumen Radev's government that will restore citizens' trust.
Political pluralism comes precisely through dialogue, not through party loyalty, Dotsova stated.
Priorities: Judicial reform and a new SJC
- Urgent need for legislative changes before the election of a new composition of the SJC.
- Restoring trust through high moral and professional standards.
- Refusal to allow bodies with expired mandates to continue in a democratic state.
Parliamentary control or a political talking shop?
Dotsova was categorical that parliament should focus on lawmaking rather than acting as an investigative body. She also announced that the iconic "Peevski office" has been turned into a reading room for the National Assembly library, symbolizing a break with past practices.
Restoring the authority of the National Assembly
With trust in the institution at just 7% following the 51st National Assembly, a primary task for Dotsova is "opening" parliament to the scientific community and civil society through better dialogue and transparency.
