The Ministry of Electronic Governance organized a public lottery to determine the external experts who will be included in the certification of the voting machines. The event is part of the procedure for selecting specialists and is held for the first time in this format, as this time the submitted applications are more than the announced places.

A total of four applications were approved for participation in the process, with an initially set need for three external experts. Due to this imbalance, the choice was made by open drawing of lots, with which the institution aims to ensure maximum transparency and to strengthen confidence in the entire certification process.

After the preliminary assessment and selection, and subsequently after the public drawing, the following were determined as external experts: Lyudmil Barzev, Delyan Keremedchiev and Boyan Atanasov. The fourth candidate – Vanyo Elenkov – will have the role of a reserve and will be included if necessary.

"We are also making this procedure public as part of this government's statement that it will do everything possible to hold fair and transparent elections. For us at the Ministry of Electronic Governance, this also means making you involved in every step of the process," Minister Georgi Sharkov emphasized.

During the event, those present were thoroughly acquainted with the stages and criteria for the selection of external specialists. The explanations were presented by Rositsa Georgieva, Head of the "Strategies and Policies in Cybersecurity" department, who outlined the framework of the procedure and the role of the experts in the upcoming certification of the devices.
