A man has been detained in Bulgarovo for shooting and killing a dog, the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Burgas announced. A report of the incident in the Karabair area, near the sand quarry of Bulgarovo, was filed on December 31st. It was established that the animal - a cross between Kangal and Bulgarian Shepherd Dog breeds - was shot in the left side of the body. The perpetrator was detained after a short search. He is 53 years old, from Bulgarovo. He voluntarily surrendered a hunting rifle with an optical sight.
In mid-June 2025, BTA reported that a 46-year-old man was detained for the death of a dog dragged along the road, tied to a car in Bulgarovo. According to his explanations, he had lost the animal earlier, and after finding it in the area of the cemetery. He decided not to put it in the car's cabin because it was dirty.
