Seventh-grader Georgi Mateev from the "Acad. Nikola Obreshkov" Natural Sciences and Mathematics High School in Burgas won a bronze medal at the international PAP 2026 competition in Osaka, Japan.

Nessebar's mathematical talent breaks through on a global level

Seventh-grader Georgi Mateev, a student at the "Acad. Nikola Obreshkov" High School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences in Burgas, achieved impressive success by winning a bronze medal at the prestigious Pan-Asia Pacific International Mathematics Invitation Competition (PAP 2026), held in Osaka, Japan.

This is the young mathematician's first major international competition outside the borders of his homeland, which makes his success even more significant.

A cultural ambassador for Bulgaria

In addition to solving complex problems, Georgi also distinguished himself as a worthy representative of his hometown, Nessebar. During the forum, he presented the cultural and historical richness of Nessebar to the international community.
