Ryanair ground service workers in Spain are undertaking unprecedented protest actions that could seriously destabilize air communications in the country. Union representatives of Azul Handling have officially announced a schedule of upcoming strikes, which will be conducted with high frequency.
Workers will suspend activities every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in three critical time ranges: morning - from 5:00 to 9:00, noon - from 12:00 to 15:00, and evening - from 21:00 to 23:59. Protest actions are planned to continue until December 31, 2025, if employee demands are not met.
Key activities such as baggage handling are most likely to be affected, especially during peak load hours at all Spanish bases of the airline. Despite potential disruptions, Ryanair management declares confidence that the flight schedule will not be seriously compromised.
The Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends that travelers exercise exceptional caution. Citizens planning trips to or from Spain are urged to monitor current information through official airline channels - websites and mobile applications.
The context of these protests fits into a broader problem in the aviation sector. Just a month ago - in July, Ryanair reported over 113,000 flights performed, while simultaneously 680 were canceled, mainly due to strikes by French air traffic controllers.
