Employees from the General Directorate "National Police" and the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Plovdiv conducted a successful specialized operation to neutralize a drug distribution channel. The investigation started after receiving operational information about a potential trafficker of banned substances in the region.

Criminalists focused their attention on a foreign citizen with suspicious intentions to transport a significant amount of synthetic drugs. As a result of targeted search actions, police officers were able to locate the suspects in the First of May area.

During the specialized action, a light vehicle driven by two men aged 45 was stopped. One of them is a Turkish citizen with a temporary residence status, who lives in the village of Plodovitovo, and the other is from the village of Krushevo. Upon a thorough inspection of the vehicle, about 10 kilograms of yellowish powdery substance were found in the trunk.

The performed field express test confirmed that the substance is a synthetic cannabinoid. The two men were immediately detained by police order, and later the court imposed a permanent detention measure on the foreigner.

The investigation continues under the direct guidance and supervision of the Plovdiv District Prosecutor's Office. All circumstances surrounding the crime, qualified under Article 354a of the Criminal Code, are yet to be clarified.
