A large-scale police operation, conducted by employees of the "Narcotics" sector together with district departments in Sofia, uncovered a network of drug dealers operating in the capital. From July 11 to 13, law enforcement agencies managed to document and intercept the activities of several criminal groups specialized in the distribution of various types of narcotic substances.
The first significant operation was carried out in the "Levski V" neighborhood, where forensic officers detained a 41-year-old man known to the police for previous offenses. During a specialized police action at an intersection in the "Vrazhdebnа" neighborhood, law enforcement officers documented a drug deal. A subsequent search of the suspect's car revealed eight packets of cocaine, and an additional dose of the same substance was found with his client.
Further investigative actions revealed the scale of the criminal activity. In the detainee's apartment, 20 small and 5 large doses of cocaine intended for street distribution were seized. Police officers also confiscated a gas pistol, four mobile phones, and a cash sum of 3,400 leva. The total amount of seized cocaine amounted to about 20 grams.
Parallel to the first operation, forensic officers from the Fifth Police Department focused on another drug distributor – a 32-year-old man suspected of growing cannabis. A search of his apartment in the "Hadji Dimitar" complex revealed 15 cannabis plants between 40 and 80 cm tall, a jar of dried leaf mass, a white powdery substance, and multiple seeds.
Another significant operation was conducted in the "Vrazhdebnа" neighborhood, where a 49-year-old man with a criminal record was detained. A search of the yard of his property found 59 cannabis plants ranging from 60 to 220 cm in height. The total amount of green leaf mass seized from the two detainees amounted to about 4.5 kg.
On July 11, employees of the Fourth Police Department conducted a check on a 42-year-old man known for previous offenses in the field of drug distribution. A search of his home and car seized over 40 g of marijuana, 10 g of amphetamine, 2 g of crystals, 1,400 leva, and an electronic scale.
As a result of the large-scale operation, a total of 23 suspects were detained. 6 kg of green marijuana leaf mass, 250 g of marijuana, 20 g of cocaine and amphetamine were seized. Pre-trial proceedings under Articles 354A and 354B of the Criminal Code were initiated against the detainees.
