In a large-scale operation taking place in several regions of Bulgaria, law enforcement agencies are conducting searches and seizures in connection with an international investigation into corruption crimes in Ukraine. The actions are carried out at the request for legal assistance from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and are related to alleged violations in arms trade at inflated prices.

Acting Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Interior Miroslav Rashkov informed the media about the progress of the operation, emphasizing that there are no detained persons at the moment. "The operation is being conducted in several regions, under the control of the National Investigation Service (NIS). Addresses in several cities are being searched", Rashkov stated.

The operation, which is unfolding on a national scale, includes coordinated actions of several law enforcement structures. A team of NIS investigators is leading the searches and seizures in homes and offices, with the participation of officers from the General Directorate "Combating Organized Crime"-MoI (GDCOC) and the General Directorate "Gendarmerie, Special Operations and Counter-Terrorism" (GDGSOCT).

This large-scale action underscores the importance of international cooperation in the fight against corruption and cross-border crime. The investigation of alleged corruption schemes related to arms trade is of particular importance given the current geopolitical situation in the region.

Experts note that such operations can have serious consequences not only for the individuals involved but also for interstate relations. Additional information on the results of the searches and possible follow-up actions by law enforcement agencies is expected to be provided in the coming days.

The operation continues to develop, with authorities calling for patience and understanding from the public while the necessary investigative actions are carried out. The Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of Interior promise to inform the media and the public in a timely manner about all significant developments in the case.
