Marina Arnaudova, Ivan Suhivanov, and Roza Boyanova were the award recipients at the 32nd annual Literary Awards ceremony of Burgas Municipality. The ceremony took place in the foyer of the Burgas Opera.
Marina Arnaudova was awarded the "Hristo Fotev" plaque for poetry for her collection "Cultivating Fears." Ivan Suhivanov received the "Petko Rosen" award for prose for his work "Late Trains, Rainy...". Roza Boyanova was honored with the "Pegasus" award for a book contributing to national literature for "Literary Legends and Readings."
Among those present were the Chairman of the Municipal Council, Mihail Hadzhiyanev, the Deputy Mayor for Culture, Diana Savateva, the municipal councilor Yasen Prodanov, as well as the jury members Mitko Novkov, Georgi Nikolov, Nadya Popova, Marin Marinov, and Silva Hacheryan.
Mitko Novkov emphasized the high artistic standard of the works and highlighted the absence of marine themes in the prose. He proposed the establishment of a national award for maritime literature, an award for children's books, and awards for debuts.
Marina Arnaudova dedicated her award to her editor, Krastyo Ralenkov. Ivan Suhivanov humorously shared that he was considering switching to music. Roza Boyanova expressed her joy at the longevity of the literary review.
Deputy Mayor Diana Savateva emphasized the disinterestedness of Burgas Municipality in the selection of awards. A special plaque was presented on behalf of the mayor, Ivanka Todorova. The hosts of the ceremony were the actors Nikol Karabinova and Viktor Mladenov. Musicians and students from vocational high schools participated in the program.
