Mariya Aleksieva – Winner of the Dryanovo Painting Award
The talented artist from Burgas, Mariya Aleksieva, is the recipient of the prestigious Dryanovo Painting Award for 2026. She was distinguished as the winner in the fifth edition of the National Plein Air "Dryanovo of Master Kolyu Ficheto – Memory and Present".
The works reflect the unique encounter between architectural heritage and the contemporary creative vision of the authors.
The forum, held between July 1 and 5, was organized by the Historical Museum – Dryanovo and the Municipality of Dryanovo, with the assistance of the Union of Bulgarian Artists. The award ceremony took place in the iconic Ikonomov House.

The plein air turned Dryanovo into an open-air studio, inspiring authors from all over Bulgaria to interpret the work of Kolyu Ficheto. Mariya Aleksieva, who is part of the team at the "Petko Zadgorski" Burgas Art Gallery, once again proved her high level of professionalism and contribution to contemporary Bulgarian art.
