The music world bids farewell to one of the brightest pop icons of the last century - Connie Francis. Her friend and publicist Ron Roberts announced her passing on Thursday, without providing additional details about the circumstances.

Francis was an undisputed leader in music charts between 1957 and 1964, managing to win the hearts of both young and older generations. Her exceptional charisma and musical talent made her one of the most popular performers before the era of "The Beatles".

In her creative career, she achieved remarkable success with more than a dozen songs in the top 20 charts. Among her most famous hits are "Who's Sorry Now?", "Don't Break the Heart That Loves You", "The Heart Has a Mind of Its Own", "Pretty Little Baby" and "Everybody's Somebody's Fool".

Besides being a musician, Connie Francis also appeared as an actress, participating in films such as "Where the Boys Are" and "Follow the Boys", which further solidified her status as a multi-talented star of that time.

Her music and artistic presence shaped an entire generation, turning her into a true icon of popular culture from the mid-20th century.
