A final farewell to Nadezhda Zaharieva

Bulgarian culture has lost one of its bright voices. The poet Nadezhda Zaharieva, whose work touched thousands of hearts, has embarked on her final journey. The sad news was announced by her family on social media, leaving a void in the souls of her admirers.

"The mission of all poets is to try, even if just a little, to change a person's soul for the better... and then to make the world a better place," she used to say during her lifetime.

The creative path of an inspired artist

Nadezhda Zaharieva was born in 1944 and showed a strong connection to literature from a young age. Her path was marked by a powerful creative presence – from her first poems in the eighth grade to iconic lyrics for popular songs performed by Lili Ivanova and the band Signal.

Zaharieva believed that words were her true "capital". Until her final days, she remained true to her maxim: "Words fly away, what is written remains."
