Football club "Slavia Sofia" officially announced a significant addition to its lineup – the return of experienced Brazilian defender Diego Ferrareso. Through a message on their official website, the management confirmed the signing of a contract with the 33-year-old athlete.
The new footballer has a rich sporting biography directly linked to the history of the Sofia team. Ferrareso was at the helm of the team between 2014 and 2016, during which period he recorded an impressive 51 matches in all tournaments.
The professional path of the Brazilian with Bulgarian citizenship has passed through numerous prestigious teams from different leagues. His record includes appearances in the lineups of "Lokomotiv" (Plovdiv), "Botev" (Vratsa), "Litex", "Chavdar" (Etropole), Romanian "Gloria" (Buzau) and Polish "Cracovia" (Krakow).
Ferrareso's return comes very soon after another significant team addition – the attracting of footballer Iliyan Stefanov, which happened just a few days ago.
The new two-year contract reinforces "Slavia Sofia's" ambitions to strengthen its lineup with experienced and recognizable football names. Ferrareso will once again defend the colors of the club at the "Alexander Shalamanov" stadium, named after a legendary Bulgarian sports figure.
