The results of yesterday's vote in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt show a significant shift in political sentiment, with the far-right "Alternative for Germany" (AfD) winning the vote with 43.8% of the ballots. Although the party declared success, it failed to secure an outright majority in the local parliament. The conservative Christian Democratic Union (CDU) remained far behind with 17.2%, which is the party's historically weakest result in this region.

In relation to these events, the leader of "Vazrazhdane," Kostadin Kostadinov, stated that it is of utmost importance for Bulgarians to find their place in the emerging New Europe — a space of European peoples and sovereign nations. He emphasized the importance of the achievements of his German partners: "I congratulate our European allies from 'Alternative for Germany' for the huge victory they achieved in the elections in Saxony-Anhalt. With a record turnout of almost 80%, they received 44% (a number rounded from 43.8%) of the vote, which puts them one step away from forming a state government."

Kostadinov confirmed that he plans to send congratulatory letters both to the party's national leaders Tino Chrupalla and Alice Weidel, as well as to the local representative Ulrich Siegmund. According to him, the trend is clear, as this is the second major blow to the "Brussels totalitarian system" within just one week, after Iceland definitively decided in a referendum not to begin negotiations for membership in Europe.

In the context of these processes, the "Vazrazhdane" leader commented on the upcoming elections in France and Italy, as well as the probability of early elections in Germany due to the collapse of the ruling coalition between the CDU and the SPD. He expressed optimism regarding the future development of political forces on the continent, stating: "our allies will achieve even greater successes." According to Kostadinov, the end of a union marked by directives, bans, sanctions, repressions, acculturation, de-Christianization, propaganda, and fascism is approaching.

Editorial context: Vazrazhdane and Alternative for Germany are pro-Russian parties. Russia has been waging a full-scale war against Ukraine since February 2022, while the European Union and Bulgaria support Ukraine and the sanctions against Moscow.

Regarding domestic policy, Kostadinov outlined the presidential elections as a decisive step for the country. He commented that there are two alternatives in them - a candidate from "Vazrazhdane" or "all other subordinates of Brussels."

In conclusion, the politician expressed confidence that our country will succeed in defending its independence, referring to the historical example from 141 years ago, when the Unification was carried out. He believes that Bulgarians will find the strength to prove that they are guided solely by the national interest of Bulgaria.
