Nikolay Dimitrov, the Mayor of Nessebar Municipality, met with the directors of local kindergartens and schools as part of his traditional annual meeting with them. The event focused on the overall preparation of the educational system for the upcoming school year, with the primary goal of ensuring that students are welcomed into a secure, well-prepared, and tranquil environment.
"It is important to us that children begin the school year in a safe, modern, and functional environment. This is why the maintenance and renovation of schools and kindergartens is a constant priority for Nessebar Municipality. I can confidently state that our educational institutions are among the best-maintained in the country," stated Mayor Nikolay Dimitrov.
The discussion covered all key issues regarding the start of the academic process. Preparations for the heating season, as well as hygiene and safety standards around educational facilities, were discussed in detail.
During the talks, progress and results from the repairs and improvements made to the facilities were analyzed. Renovation work on buildings and surrounding areas has been carried out or is still underway in all schools and a large number of kindergartens across the municipality. Several of them will start the school year with new sports facilities, while playgrounds for physical activity are being designed for others. The renovation of two schools – in Ravda and Sveti Vlas – is upcoming.
Currently, scheduled repairs to facades, courtyard areas, and measures to increase energy efficiency are being finalized. All ongoing activities are expected to be completed before the start of the school year.
Caring for educational infrastructure remains a central element of the Municipality's long-term strategy. Every year, significant resources and efforts are dedicated to optimizing learning conditions and improving the environment in which teachers work and children learn. Through these continuous investments and repairs, Nessebar is actively upgrading its facilities, reinforcing its focus on the well-being of the younger generation.
