Plovdiv, Bulgaria — A severe single-vehicle crash involving an SUV and a trailer carrying two motorcycles caused temporary traffic congestion on the "Trakia" motorway near Plovdiv. The incident, which fortunately resulted in no injuries, occurred at the 142nd kilometer on the carriageway heading towards Burgas.

Details of the incident

According to information from the Plovdiv police, the SUV, which was towing a platform with two motorcycles, suddenly lost control and crashed heavily into the guardrail on the side of the road. As a result of the collision, the two motorcycles detached from the platform and fell directly onto the road, creating a hazard for other drivers.

Police teams quickly arrived at the scene and took immediate action to secure the area and regulate traffic.

The SUV and trailer were moved to the emergency lane to clear the main carriageway and reduce the risk of further incidents. Although the incident did not result in casualties or injuries, the sight of the motorcycles scattered on the road was alarming for passing motorists.

Traffic restoration

Police confirmed that traffic in this section of the motorway was briefly congested as vehicles proceeded with increased caution past the crash site. However, as of the last update from law enforcement, traffic has returned to normal and is flowing smoothly. The causes of the single-vehicle crash are still being investigated by the traffic police.
