The outgoing Minister of Transport Grozdan Karadjov responded to concerns about the transfer of 35,000 sq. m from the island of "St. St. Kirik and Julita" to "Port Infrastructure." According to Karadjov, the goal is to improve the area and facilitate access. He denied that the state was serving a private interest.

"Even 15 years ago, when this island was managed by the Ministry of Transport, it was transferred to the Maritime Administration. Since then, it has become a wasteland. There is no possibility, no legal possibility for the Maritime Administration to repair quay walls and manage such spaces. The decision we are making is entirely appropriate and is for the public state property of the state. It has nothing to do, I guarantee you with my word, nothing to do with any private interest. And this decision does not intend to deny anyone access." - said Karadjov.
