How to check your section and place of voting for the upcoming elections

From today, Bulgarian citizens can check their section and place of voting for the upcoming elections electronically or by phone. Also, the possibility of electronic submission of a request for voting at the current address is opened.

From today, Bulgarian citizens entitled to vote in the upcoming elections for the National Assembly can check the number of the polling station and the place of voting electronically. This is done through the website of the General Directorate (GD GRAO) - https://www.grao.bg/elections/ or by phone at 0800 1 4726, free of charge throughout the country, the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works (MRDPW) announced.

Preliminary electoral lists for announcement include 6,641,768 voters. These lists, according to Art. 26, para. 1 of the Election Code, are printed by the MRDPW - GD GRAO on the basis of the National Population Register - National Database "Population", which is updated daily with data submitted by the municipal administrations for changes in the civil registration of persons.

The names of deceased persons are deleted from the electoral lists in accordance with Art. 27, para. 1 of the EC. 

Also from today until April 4, 2026, citizens can submit an electronic request to vote at their current address through the website of the relevant municipality or through the website of the GD GRAO - https://regna.grao.bg/. All Bulgarian citizens who have submitted a request to vote at their current address through the municipal administrations or directly through the GD GRAO website will be included in the electoral lists at their current address and deleted from the lists at their permanent address.

Address registration, according to Art. 92, para. 1 of the Civil Registration Act, is carried out by the mayor of the municipality, district or mayor's office or by officials appointed by them upon request by the person. According to Art. 89, para. 5 of the same law, the addresses at which address registration can be carried out are determined by order of the mayor of the municipality.  

At the end of February, the caretaker government adopted a Decision for the preparation and conduct of the elections for the National Assembly on April 19, 2026. The Minister of Regional Development and Public Works coordinates the activity of preparing and publishing the electoral lists, it is stated in the cabinet's decision.
