Inspectors from the "Border Control" directorate of the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (BFSA) at the Kalotina border crossing point seized nearly half a ton of food and plant protection products. The inspection was carried out jointly with employees of the Customs Agency and the Border Police.
During an inspection of a minibus with Bulgarian registration, entering from Serbia, minced meat, cheese, paprika and potatoes were found without the necessary accompanying documents. 12 packages of products prohibited for use in the European Union were also found. The products were seized and will be destroyed.
The BFSA emphasizes that the control at the border points is constant and protects consumers by not allowing non-compliant and potentially dangerous foods and products into the territory of the EU.
We remind you that yesterday the BFSA announced the seizure of over 230 kg of unregulated foods of animal origin at the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing point.
