Government services undertook a coordinated and rapid intervention after the severe train incident near the village of Pyasachevo, during which eight tankers derailed and caught fire during the morning transit.

Deputy Prime Minister Grozdan Karadjov personally inspected the site of the accident and emphasized the exceptional professionalism of teams from various institutions. "Not for a moment was the life of the local population endangered," he was categorical in front of the media.

The large-scale rescue operation included synchronized actions of multiple state structures. The Main Directorate "Fire Safety and Population Protection" managed to locate and extinguish the flames in less than two hours.

Experts from BDZ provided locomotives to pull out the unaffected wagons, while the emergency teams of the National Railway Infrastructure Company provided additional technical and human support.

"Mini Maritsa-east" assisted the operation with heavy machinery to secure the area, and the local authorities provided additional water sources to extinguish the fire.

At the moment, 22 tankers from the derailed train are already being withdrawn, reported the press center of the Ministry of Transport.

Environmental services conducted an initial air analysis in the area. Tonka Atanasova from the Regional Inspection of Environment and Water in Haskovo confirmed slightly elevated levels of benzene, due to the burning of diesel fuel during the incident.

The official investigation will be conducted by the National Board for Transport Accident Investigation, which is already mobilized on the ground.
