On Thursday, May 22, 2025, the exhibition "Georgi Baev. 100 years since the birth of the artist" was officially opened at the Gallery of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Berlin. The event, organized in support of Burgas' candidacy for European Capital of Culture in 2032, brought together art lovers and admirers of the work of one of the most significant Bulgarian marine artists.
The exhibition presents paintings from different stages of Georgi Baev's creative path, part of the collection of the Burgas Art Gallery "Petko Zadgorski". The Director of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Berlin opened the celebration with a welcome to the guests, emphasizing that the exhibition is part of the initiatives related to Burgas' candidacy for European Capital of Culture.
The curator of the exhibition, Dr. Lyudmila Kutieva, presented the artist's creative world and expressed gratitude to the team of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Berlin for the excellent partnership. The Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria in Germany, Mr. Grigor Porozhanov, also addressed a welcome to the attendees.
On the occasion of the anniversary exhibition, a bilingual album was published, including works from the personal collection of Georgi Baev's family and from the collection of the Burgas Art Gallery.
