We are surprised by the intention of the Municipal Election Commission (OIK) in Varna to convene an extraordinary meeting on Sunday, the purpose of which is obviously the removal of Mayor Blagomir Kotsev, said the co-chairman of the "Yes, Bulgaria" movement Ivaylo Mirchev to journalists at the National Press Club of BTA in Burgas. The co-chairman of "Yes, Bulgaria" pointed out that they learned late last night about the planned meeting.
We have no doubt that the ruling duo Boyko Borisov – Delyan Peevski is behind this. According to him, "the whole operation" aims to prevent Kotsev from being mayor any longer and to provoke elections in Varna.
He added that "Yes, Bulgaria" calls on citizens to go in front of the sports hall in Varna, where the OIK meeting will be held.
What we want is justice, if someone has made a mistake, the court should rule. But to keep a person in a cell, with sick people, in the cold, is not civilized, he said.
Mirchev stated that if a campaign for partial elections is triggered, "we will participate even more united." If anyone thinks that this will break us, they are very mistaken, he commented.
Mirchev described the budget as "the weakest since Videnov's time."
Everyone feels it – in Burgas, in Sofia. Raising taxes, social security contributions, a huge new debt that Bulgaria is taking on next year, he said. Mirchev emphasized that the maximum insurance income increases significantly above what was previously announced.
Social security contributions are rising by 10%, not by 2 percentage points, as many people say. Obviously, the goal is clear – to have a budget that leaves a lot for stealing, Mirchev stated.
He pointed out that no one from GERB, nor the Prime Minister, defended the budget, which according to Mirchev is logical because "the budget is bad and harmful to the country."
The social dialogue has been destroyed, the business in no way supported the budget, said the co-chairman of "Yes, Bulgaria".
Mirchev pointed out that he is in the Burgas region on the occasion of the re-establishment of the local organization of "Yes, Bulgaria" in Nessebar. According to him, this is part of the strategy for preparation for the upcoming local elections.
Extremely active, young people, citizens. We are re-establishing and founding new local structures throughout the country – dozens in the last few months alone. We believe that the local elections are the most important moment. Power is taken there, he stated.
