Sharp criticism from "We Continue the Change"
Deafening silence from the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of Bulgaria Iliana Iotova – 24 hours after the news about "Bezmer," wrote the leader of "We Continue the Change" (PP) Asen Vassilev in a Facebook post.
"There is no convened Consultative Council on National Security. There is no statement on what measures will be taken. Complete silence," he added.
Vassilev questioned the ability of the state leadership to react to a real crisis: "With such a commander-in-chief, I don't want to think about what will happen if there is a real attack."
What is the threat?
- The British publication "Financial Times" reported that Iran is considering options for strikes against American assets in Southeast Europe.
- A potential target is the "Bezmer" airbase, which was approved for refueling American aircraft.
- Internal sources close to the Tehran regime are the source of the information.
Actions of the authorities
Minister of Interior Ivan Demerdzhiev stated that "all possible measures" have been taken for the security of the facility, with the level of protection raised in accordance with the latest intelligence reports. However, the opposition remains critical, accusing the government of inadequacy and a lack of transparency regarding national defense issues.
