Iliana Iotova: "Ilieva Niva" is a place of reverence and a lesson for future generations
During the National Youth Thracian Gathering "Ilieva Niva," Vice President Iliana Iotova emphasized the need for justice for the Thracian people. The event marked 30 years since the creation of the memorial complex and 113 years since the tragic death of over 200 children and their mothers.
"I truly hope that one day justice will also come for our Thracian people. We have leaders in whom I place great hope," stated Iotova.
She called for dialogue and reasonable solutions, emphasizing that the most important mission of modern society is to ensure a peaceful environment for children. According to her, war cannot be justified by any political interests.
Important steps for preserving memory
- Planting a cypress tree in the memorial area as a symbol of life.
- Placing a time capsule with a message for future generations.
- A proposal to the Holy Synod for the canonization of the fallen Thracian children.
The Chairman of the Union of Thracian Societies, Krasimir Premyanov, also expressed his firm position against wars, defining the preservation of peace as the leading task of the current generation.
