Diplomacy versus military solutions

During the Annual Conference of Bulgarian Ambassadors, Vice President Iliana Iotova stated that our country consistently maintains the position that the conflict in Ukraine has no military solution. According to her, the main challenge facing European policy is the lack of consensus and a clear plan to end hostilities.

"The biggest flaw of European policy at the moment is that there is no established consensus policy and solution to offer on the international stage for the end of this conflict," emphasized Iotova.

Bulgaria's participation in the "Coalition of the Willing"

Iotova also commented on our country's participation in the so-called "Coalition of the Willing," pointing out that decisions on this matter were made without sufficient transparency. She expressed concern that such satellite formats could lead to the militarization of foreign policy, rather than encouraging the search for a peaceful outcome.

Key points from the statement:

The Vice President categorically stated that Bulgaria has no national decision to participate in multinational military formations on the territory of Ukraine without the explicit approval of the parliament.
