Radev isolates Bulgaria from the core of the EU
"We went to the parade, but we did not sit at the table where decisions are made," commented Ivaylo Mirchev.
According to the Member of Parliament from "Democratic Bulgaria," President Rumen Radev's decision not to join the "coalition of the willing" to aid Ukraine is a clear "pivot to the East." Mirchev emphasized that at a time when Europe is rethinking its security following the withdrawal of the US, Bulgaria's absence from key discussions leads to dangerous isolation.
Stoyan Mavrodiev – a key to the "Peevski" model?
The topic of the extradition of the former head of the Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB), Stoyan Mavrodiev, was also central to Mirchev's statement. The MP expects answers on cases such as:
- The lending to "Bulgartabac" and "Technomarket."
- Delyan Peevski's connections to processes at the BDB.
- Unraveling the corruption model that has harmed the state for years.
However, Mirchev remains skeptical, comparing the case to that of Vasil Bozhkov, and wonders whether Mavrodiev will truly speak out, or if this will be just another "dud" in the Bulgarian justice system.
