Approximately 50,900 applications have been submitted so far for the additional 20 euro compensation for the increase in fuel prices. We are also expecting more through the Ministry of Electronic Governance. So, slightly over 60,000 applications will be finally submitted. This was announced by the caretaker Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Hassan Ademov, on Nova TV.

Individuals who own their own cars and meet the income criterion, which is twice the poverty line – a little under 760 euros, are entitled to this support, the minister explained. As soon as we have the information from the National Revenue Agency (NRA), the money will be transferred to the accounts of those entitled, he added. According to him, the amounts for March will probably be paid in mid-April. Ademov informed that the measure for April will be activated in a different way.

If the average monthly fuel price is 1.60 euros, the measure will be automatically activated. There is no need to submit new documents for those who received the aid in April for March, the social minister clarified. He added that in May, assistance will be received by those who meet the new conditions for activating the measure, as well as those who may have missed submitting their application in March and did so in April.

There are measures that have not been activated to date, the minister announced. The sectors that lead to an increase in the final price for the consumer have been identified, he pointed out. The most important thing is that the shock in energy sources from the rise in fuel prices is not transferred down the chain to the price in the stores, Hassan Ademov emphasized. He gave the example of the transport sector and the postponement of toll fees.

Minister Ademov announced that the government will adopt a regulation on so-called energy poverty.
