Chaos in Sicily: Etna paralyzes airspace

The popular tourist destination of Sicily is held captive by nature. Catania Airport remains closed today due to another intense eruption of Mount Etna. The incident has affected thousands of passengers in the peak of the summer season.

The airspace over the airport will remain restricted until at least 7:00 p.m. Bulgarian time, after the initial reopening deadline was postponed.
