Fire on the Trakia Motorway near the 69th kilometer
A fire broke out in the area of the 69th kilometer of the Trakia motorway in the lane towards Burgas, near the junction for Velingrad. The fire started from burning dry grass, but due to high temperatures and strong winds, it spread quickly, engulfing vineyards.
Citizens attempted to extinguish the flames themselves, but after failing, they called 112.
Authorities' actions
- Firefighting teams from Septemvri and Pazardzhik are working on the site.
- Additional teams have been dispatched to bring the situation under control.
- Police patrols are monitoring the situation and are prepared to stop traffic in case of dangerous smoke.
The Ministry of Interior urges drivers to drive with increased caution, reduce speed, and maintain distance when passing through the section. Currently, traffic on the motorway remains open.
