The General Directorate "Market Surveillance" (GDMS) at the State Agency for Metrological and Technical Surveillance (DAMTN) has launched the traditional national "Christmas Campaign 2025" from December 1st, which will last until December 23rd, the institution announced. The aim of the campaign is to ensure consumer safety.
The following product groups are the focus of the inspections: children's toys, Christmas electrical decorations, and pyrotechnic articles from categories F1, F2, F3, T1, and P1. The listed products are among the most sought-after goods for Christmas and New Year.
During the inspections, the inspectors from the GDMS will focus on establishing the presence of a declaration of conformity marking, instructions for use, the name and address of the economic operator who placed the product on the market, and specific warning texts related to the safe use of the products.
During the Christmas campaign, in the event of non-compliant products, the employees of the GDMS at DAMTN will issue Orders to stop their distribution.
DAMTN advises consumers, when purchasing the above-mentioned products, to ensure the presence of CE marking, instructions for use in Bulgarian, and information about the name and address of the economic operator who placed the product on the market, which is a guarantee of the quality and safety of the products.
