Key discussions on Bulgaria's fiscal future
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Galab Donev held a series of meetings in Nicosia, Cyprus, within the framework of the informal meeting of the Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN) and the Eurogroup.
"The Commission expects the country's 2026 draft budget and the updated medium-term forecast," stated European Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis.

- Fiscal consolidation: Measures for the sustainability of Bulgarian public finances were discussed.
- Eurozone and budget: Bulgaria received congratulations on joining the Eurozone, and the 2026 budget is expected to be ready by July 1.
- Recovery Plan: Review of the progress on the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.

The ministers also discussed the competitiveness of the EU, challenges facing cryptocurrencies, and strategies for affordable housing, aimed at maintaining the fiscal stability of the union in the long term.
