Ivelin Vasilev and Daniel Stoyanov from Burgas will play at the Junior Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida. They won their places at the European play-offs, held on the courts in Ezero park.
It was the first time Burgas, and Bulgaria, had hosted qualifiers of this level. The play-offs were part of the unofficial world tennis championship for youth, and 110 players aged 14 and under from 19 countries competed for 16 places in Miami.
The Junior Orange Bowl is the most prestigious event for young tennis talents. John McEnroe, Andre Agassi and Gabriela Sabatini all began their world careers there.
The medallists received their awards from regional governor Diko Dikov, Veselina Devedzhieva, head of the sport directorate at Burgas council, and Tsvetana Pironkova, who is Bulgaria's Sportsperson No. 1 for 2020 and the tournament ambassador for the Bulgarian Tennis Federation.
At the closing ceremony, Burgas mayor Dimitar Nikolov received a plaque, and the organisers praised the city as a host.
