Today at around 4 p.m. traffic in both directions on the "Danube Bridge" near Ruse will be restored. The activities in the 320-meter section closed for major repairs in the lane towards Romania were completed one day earlier than planned, and for the holidays of Christmas and New Year, all types of vehicles will pass without restrictions.
During the last week, the barrier systems were installed on the facility and road markings were laid in the section closed for repair. Work is underway on the drainage collector and the renovation of the sidewalk blocks, according to the Road Infrastructure Agency.
The major repair of the bridge in its next stage will continue at the beginning of 2026. It is planned that construction and installation works will begin on January 8 in a 320-meter section in the lane for Bulgaria.
As before, the activities on the "Danube Bridge" will be carried out daily during the daylight hours and depending on the weather conditions. The working process will be organized and carried out in such a way that vehicles can pass in stages in both directions in the lane in which no work is being carried out.
The Road Infrastructure Agency appeals to drivers to comply with the parameters for the admissibility of passing vehicles, as well as the introduced speed limit of 20 km/h. Oversized cars can cause damage to the already repaired section and this can lead to additional, unforeseen activities.
