Military analysts have documented significant changes in the use of unmanned aerial systems during the current conflict, with particular attention paid to FPV drones and their combat characteristics.

Statistical data shows impressive dynamics - during the second week of August 2025, over 6,500 FPV drone attacks were registered, which represents a noticeable increase compared to the previous weekly period, when their number amounted to around 5,000 units.

Experts link the initial delay to logistical challenges in ammunition delivery. An interesting fact is that July values reached peak levels with over 7,000 drones during the second week of the month.

Forecasts for August, however, are more moderate - no new record is expected, as limited growth is observed without drastic jumps.

In detail, the "Lancet" combat blocks maintained a relatively constant level - around 80 uses during the second week and approximately 150 for the first half of the month. The kamikaze drones "Molnia-2" were used over 100 times weekly, or more than 200 times in total.

The attack drones "Privet-82" had a weaker presence, with usage not exceeding 50 units. The Shahed-136 category and related models recorded a decline - 360 drones during the second week compared to 674 in the first.

Military experts warn that the opponent has a reserve potential of over 3,500 ready drones, which creates prerequisites for a possible escalation.

There is a possibility of intensifying drone attacks around August 15, on the eve of August 24 - an important symbolic date for Ukraine.

The analysis was prepared by military correspondent Alexander Kovalenko, based on official military sources and intelligence reports.
